And here it is, CLASH OF THE GIGA-MECHAS has joined the Mecha Jam and is free to download!

The game has two different parts: the Academy and the Unit. In the first one, you control a cadet that competes with others in order to pass the exams and go through all the regular problems of being a teenager. In the second one, you control a mecha that crosses the battlefield as storm of destruction!

I had the idea of fitting the Cadet character sheet on top of the mecha one. After giving it some thought, I came with the idea of making the Cadet sheet like a card and insert it in the top of the Giga-Mecha sheet as if it was the cockpit.

My first draw was this:

It was too much detail. The robot doesn´t let much space to write anything. The game is simple but requires a minimum of notes! Each Giga-Mecha attribute has a number of associated systems that should be written somewhere.

I made a second one:

More space but still quite messy.

Then, it occured to me that I could put the systems in different zones of the robot. Third attempt.

As I was not sure what I needed, it got a bit confused. The Energy and Hull were in the middle and an annoyance but, at the same time, they are important things to keep track of. Then, I saw those emtpy corners and thought that they would look great as some kind of missile launcher.

As a couple of Easter eggs, I thought of calling the game "Class of the Giga-Mechas" because it´s set in an academy with, well, classes. But decided that the joke would play against me as people would think it´s a mistake in the tittle. 

In the cover, the word CLASH touches two of the cadets. The one on the left is CLAudia Sufflebotham and the one on the right is ASH Two-Pies, characters from the examples in the game.
